Objectives
This course will introduce generally the principle, components, procedure, stages, and applications of conventional PCR method. The course will focus on the basic issues of PCR for naïve persons who they are interested to learn about this technique. The course will illustrate the steps of PCR establishment process. As well as, optimizing and improving the gel electrophoresis image of the PCR product. This course will also involve troubleshooting section; in which the major problems occur during the PCR will be demonstrated, and scientific-based methods to improve the PCR results and to solve the PCR problems will be given and discussed. Finally, the course will shed the lights on the prominent applications of PCR, along with giving real examples (scientific researches or papers) on using these applications practically. The course will be delivered theoretically through lectures and hands-on practice on real samples.
Target Group
The course particularly designed for the medical-fields or genetic engineering students, researchers, or technicians working (or planning to work) in research and diagnostic molecular biology laboratories.
