The Royal Scientific Society is pleased to announce the expansion of its technical services by introducing the highly advanced scanning electron microscope (SEM) in its Engineering Sciences Laboratories.

The SEM is used to take images of the surface of materials at a very high level of magnification, with zoom up to 300,000 times. It is generally used in different fields such as materials science, metallurgy, determining the type of galvanization, the chemical composition of metal alloys, and mapping of elements within the examined material. The SEM is also important and widely used in scientific research and quality control operations.
